Kelly Slater was all smiles on October 8, 2012 as he won his 51th ASP WCT at the Quiksilver Pro France. This is Slater’s 3rd win on the tour- Fiji, Trestles, France. Just 2 weeks earlier, Kelly claimed win #50 at Lower Trestles in San Clemente, California.  That win was a special moment for him mocking his first win 22 years ago at the same spot- Lower Trestles.

“I have to thank the fans – not only today, but over the years. It’s such a blessing to be surfing at Trestles.” Slater continues, “It’s cool to win the 50th here. I won my first event as a pro here, and it’s great to get this win.”

It seems as though Slater is having a lot of repeats on this tour, bringing back memories from years ago. “It has literally been 20 years,” Slater said. “I had my first win here 20 years ago and that’s pretty crazy.” Since the first time he claimed the title 20 years ago, this is only his second in France.
