How long have you been surfing: 7 years

Best surf trip you’ve been on: Hopefully the best is yet to come but I just got back from Southwest France which was my best trip so far.

Where did you go to school/graduate: I graduated from La Jolla High School in 2008 and then went to Mesa College for two years. I’m taking some time off right now to try and travel as much as possible and figure out what I want to do for a career but I definitely don’t want this stage in my life to end anytime soon.

How do you feel about being a South Coast team rider: I’m super stoked to finally be on the team! I’ve worked at South Coast Windansea on and off for around four years now so it made sense to finally get on the program.

How do you feel about surfing contests: I’m not a very competitive person and hate being aggressive in heats but I enjoy surfing contests for sure. It’s definitely a huge difference going from the junior contests up to the WQS events but its a great learning experience and every time I go to an event somewhere I can tell that just being around such a talented pool of surfers improves my surfing so much.

Who do you like to surf with: I always surf around home with Ian Bakhsh, Sterling Weatherley, Lucas Dirkse and Jake Halstead. They’re always pushing my surfing so much and helping me improve!

What kind of boards do you ride: I ride a bunch of Solid surfboards shaped by Dan O’hara and have gotten a couple magical Rusty’s lately shaped by Pedro Battaglin. Channel Islands always seem to work for me as well but they’re just so expensive!

What’s your favorite board of all time: Probably a 5’10″ x 18 1/2″ x 2 3/16″ magical Channel Islands Flyer.

Favorite bands/music: Super Flu is my favorite group and both my friends JT Zvetina and Tony Sandoval make some sick beats! I usually jam out to Minimal Techno and other types of Electronic music though.

Favorite surf movies/parts: Lost at Sea, Momentum, First Chapter
